OBSESSED: Sea Salt

It's Friday!  Which means I'm about to blabber on about something else I've been OBSESSED with as of late.  On a side note (because I truly feel the need to mention this), Fashionista.com recently posted an article about words they are sick of seeing/hearing/reading/saying.  Now, I couldn't agree more with this article, but I cannot (literally...not figuratively, but srsly LITERALLY) -- CANNOT -- stop saying the word 'obsessed'. I think it's because I am seriously not over-exaggerating.  When I say I am obsessed, I am OBSESSED as in I cannot stop using/wearing/thinking about/wanting the THING that is the object of my obsession.  So, case in point...I will continue on with my 'OBSESSED' series of blog posts every Friday.

DIY: Thrifted High-Waisted Shorts + YouTube

It's finally here!  My DIY for thrifted high-waisted shorts!  A couple weeks ago I posted my Talize Thrift Haul which included a bunch of thrifted high-waisted jeans.  I mentioned that I'd be cutting them all into the PERFECT shorts for summer!  I finally found the time to go at 'em with a pair of scissors.  And just in time for the first day of Summer :).

These black Penman's jeans are by far my absolute fave.  They've faded to the perfect black; are you seeing how cool they look??  I'm going to say that a good pair of black high-waisted denim shorts are a MUST this summer.  SCOUR YOUR LOCAL THRIFT SHOPS LADIES!

These are the WAFEBOYs.  They sit the highest on my waist out of all of the pairs.  They're also the most fitted.  I get a real vintage 50's Pin-Up Girl vibe when I slip into these.

Levis!  Who doesn't love Levis? This pair sits the lowest on my waist.  They are a super relaxed fit, and  I wanted to keep with the relaxed feel of these and cut & cuffed them just enough for some pocket lining to peek through.  These look AMAZING with a basic white tee or tank.  LOVE!

These come in close second in my heart as far as my favourites go.  I think what swoons me the most is the button fly.  They are the perfect light denim.  I'm also itching to get some cute crop tops to pair with these!  Ugh!  (love...)

And now for some artsy fartsy-ness...

The Head Scarf

All above head scarves can be found at Urban Outfitters.  Also, this is a poorly photoshopped collage by me =).
Call me obsessed, but this little head accessory has me falling at its feet (if head scarves had feet, that is).  If you browse through my old posts, you'll know that I frequently fancy a bow or scarf on my head-space, and I have long since been obsessed with American Apparel Twist Scarves (see here, here, and here).  Unfortunately, these wire-y twist scarves can't really be worn with your hair up in a bun.  They annoyingly slide up the back of your head making you look like an awkward 3rd grader that was just swinging upside-down on a jungle gym.

So on that note, I am officially obsessed with non-wirey headband/head wrap/head scarf/kerchief things!  They magically make you and your lazy, dirty, hair look suddenly put together and awesome!  Don't wash your hair everyday?  FOOL EVERYONE!

I am loving the ease of this bun-and-headscarf look, and I'm so glad it's still on trend for 2013!  Here's my take on the adorable look:

On another note, I've been updating my Facebook page a lot more lately.  Please 'Like' it if the mood strikes =).

A Giveaway?

Hello my beautiful followers and new readers =).  I apologize for not posting for the past couple days!  I've been busy, AND the weather here has been crazy cold all of a sudden.  Oh, dear planet.  How sorry we are for being so horrible to you.  Please get better and keep the seasons changing like clockwork <3.

Do It Yourself, Darling!

Hello Darlings!  It's finally that time...my DIY post is ready for reveal!  I'm sorry it took so long, but the process took forever because I had to hand-sew everything as I don't have a sewing machine (just a terrible hand-held which kind of sucks).  That being said...get ready for it...because this post is going to be very image HEAVY.  I hope you still enjoy it though!

Do you have a pair of pants that are RUINED at the bottoms, or that are too long?  I did...

Future DIY?

My mom recently returned from a prolonged trip to Korea to visit her parents.  Upon her return she brought with her a whole batch o' goodies for me.  Amongst those goodies was this.  This adorable lady-like dress.  Now, my mom is usually TERRIBLE...absolutely TERRIBLE at buying things for me.  Anytime she ever buys me something (whether its clothes, bags, or even books) it usually ends up in the corner or very back of somewhere and just collects dust over time.  So good job, mum, in finally getting me something that I am not totally turned off of.

Now, while I think that this little pink frock is absolutely adorbs to DEATH, it's not totally my style.  I'm into pink--yes.  I'm into cute details--yes.  I'm into collars and cuffs--yes.  I'm into dress--absolutely.  But this for some reason is not really me.  I love my girly side, but I also have quite the tom-boyish/edgy side to me as well.  For that reason, I've been thinking about cutting this dress into a cropped sweater of sorts.  I know...I'm evil.  I am the evilest evil-do-er of them all for even THINKING about cutting this innocent pink dress.

Bah...I just can't get myself to do it.  Look how cute she is!

HELP!!
