Weekly OOTDs: Summer 1

Hi ALL!  I know I've been away for about a month, but life HAPPENS!  To make up for it, here's a real treat for ya:  VIDEO!

Leather: Vrai ou Faux?

It's officially spring here.  Or is it summer?  For the past few days we've had temperatures near 20degrees celsius!  Mayhaps Mother Nature has comme'd des fudge down from her bipolar weather-fit, and we can finally enjoy some warmth and sun here in Toronto.  This means, we can finally put our winter layers away for store without feeling like we're being premature (I hope..).

I got this faux leather jacket from F21 last Fall, and have been DYING to wear it since, and it's finally THAT time of the year when I can.  Between the freezing cold winter and the burning hot summers here in Toronto, there is a very small and precious window of time where light jackets can be worn.  Bring on the leather -- NOW.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on faux leather?  I don't think I ever realized the cost of true leather until I became a hard-working, money-earning (and, obviously, super-responsible), 'adult'.  I find myself drooling over real leather jackets and bags, and then having to truly consider the investment.  If I think it's just a 'trendy' piece, I opt for a cheap faux leather alternative.

These shades have quickly become my favourite.  Last year I won a blogging project on Heart IFB and my prize was a years' worth of glasses from Lookmatic.  These are among the pairs that I've ordered so far.  I particularly love these because I'm such a sucker for Cateyes and unique details.  The upper half of these sunnies are wrapped in real leather.  Mmmmm..love.

I posted my obsession with this pink studded beauty a while ago, and that love has not yet faded.  This faux leather clutch is actually my first ever clutch.  She's my first, and I'll love her forever! (or until the next best thing comes along?)

Anyway, tonight I'll be dog sitting my sister's pomeranian and staying up late for Little Black Bag's May new releases!  Pretty sure there was a phone bill I had to pay somewhere...

Fall Florals III

Finally an end to my floral-with-everything crusade.  You're all sick of it by now, I'm sure.  I wore this outfit a couple of weekends ago, and it was the perfect mix of some-what studious and terribly cute.  If I were still a student, I would wear this to class!  *sigh*  Sometimes I think about high school and university and what I wore back then.  These spurts of reminiscing usually end with a bad taste in my mouth.  I have always had an interest in clothes and fashion, but growing up my parents never had the money to buy me anything.  I always got *crappy* hand-me-downs from my older sisters.  When I did start to make my own money when I was 15, I shopped at the ever popular American Eagle (grooooooan).  Nearing the end of highschool and for the entirety of university I went through a weird emo-alternative-skater-indie phase.  This involved buddy holly glasses, studded belts, graphic tees, hoodies, beanies, skinny jeans and Vans -- all the while oggling at fashion magazines at Chapter's for hours.

Obama for 4 More Years!

Hi dearies.  I hope you've all been having a wonderful week!  The weather is cold and the days are getting shorter!  Congratulations to Obama last night!  Us Canadians are very proud to be living next to a country governed by a fair and smart man.

I'm wearing a cropped cardigan from H&M that I got last year and absolutely love.  It's one of those things that H&M carries every year for $14.99.  This season they have a cropped pullover made of the same knit fabric.  I'm thinking of picking up a few to wear tucked into skirts!

It's getting too cold too soon here in Toronto!  I'm crossing my fingers (and all of my toes--ew) that the mean ol' Canadian winter won't hit us too soon!  Give us some time to wear heavy cardigans and leather jackets for a BIT! I BEG OF YOU!  Ugh.  Anyway...

Fall Under the Half Moon

Wherever you are in the world, it is officially Fall!  Here in Toronto, Canada we really can't deny it.  The leaves are littering the street with their fire, and it's just shamelessly beautiful.  Last weekend my boyfriend and I decided to finally cross some things off the list and get out there and take some photos for a post!  The following is what I wore on Sunday:

Style Illustrated

After being a bit lazy with drawing, I decided to be productive today!  I love this look.  It is one of my favourites, which is why I drew it.  I love cute buns, twist scarves, chunky scarves and a good bag.  I hope you all like it, too!

I get a lot of my style illustration ideas from real people!  I have an entire library of photos from style blogs that I've saved because they are looks that I absolutely adore!  And the ones that I love the most?  I usually end up drawing them!  Just thought you'd like to know =).

On another note, I'm so happy I started this blog.  Everyone has been so nice and leaving wonderful comments about how much they like the blog so far!  Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!  I'm just so glad you all find the things I find dandy...dandy, too!

Outfit details!

As most of you could probably tell, I'm still in that phase where I'm playing around with how I want this blog to look.  I posted these pictures with Instagram filters on them.  I think I like the way these pictures look without the filters better.  Because the photos that my boyfriend took are taken at a much higher quality/resolution I think I'll start to ALWAYS post outfit shoots without filters.  Yeah.  iPhone photos, however, will most likely be from what I shoot on Instagram.
